You will be able to download your pattern directly from Etsy immediately after purchase. This pattern is written in English and uses standard American crochet terminology. No other versions of the pattern are available (no graphs, videos or translations.) This unique set of mini-doilies may be small in scale, but they are certainly big in style! I incorporated a wide variety of stitches into these little beauties to make each one special and unique. They work up quickly and make excellent gifts. Each round requires only a small amount of thread, so these designs are wonderful for using up odd and ends of thread left over from other projects. They are also perfect for experimenting with unusual color combinations that you might not want to try in a larger project. The designs in this set were all made with size 10 cotton thread and a size 1.65mm steel hook, but they can be made with any thread of your choice as long as the same size is used throughout the design (it would not work to combine size 40 and size 20 thread in the same doily, for instance.) You can even make them in yarn if you desire a larger doily. This pattern is in PDF format so you will need to be able to open Adobe Acrobat, and prints out to 27 pages. Like cats? Handy with a crochet hook? Always wanted to memorialise your puss by way of a throw cushion but didn’t know how? Then this is the pattern for you. Quick and easy, this playful crochet square is ripe for customising to your favourite feline. THE PATTERN The Many Cats Square is worked in simple stitches. The background square is worked in joined rounds and the appliqué cat is sewn on afterwards. The written pattern is for one square and one kind of cat. It includes detailed notes and plenty of colour photographs, as well as suggestions on how to personalise your cat. I also give you some tips if you want to turn your squares into a cushion. CROCHET TERMINOLOGY The pattern is written in English in UK crochet terms. A conversion chart to US terms is included. LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY Adventurous beginner: a few different techniques but nothing particularly challenging. THINGS YOU’LL NEED I used DK/8ply yarn (tapestry wool) in 6 colours and a 4mm (US G/6) hook. But feel free to substitute any weight yarn and its appropriate-sized hook – your measurements and yardage may vary accordingly. This is a great project for using those fancy, furry art yarns you have in your cupboard. For one square you will need about 10m (11 yds) for the main background colour and about 9m (10yds) for the cat, plus smaller amounts for the other colours. For the eyes, I used 4.5mm and 6mm safety eyes in a variety of colours. You could use beads or black yarn instead. And if you make your squares into a cushion, you’ll need a cushion insert. Mine measures about 45cmx 45cm (18in x 18in). ** This is a crochet pattern only** This colourful mandala pattern is intermediate in level. It uses a variety of clusters, shells, and front post stitches to create a stained glass effect. The magic ring, back post stitches, standing starts and invisible joins are also used. Written instructions are included for all atypical stitches. Written instructions and photos for the various steps of the pattern are included as well as a detailed crochet chart. This pattern is written in UK crochet terms. This pattern is in 1 size, and when worked to gauge it fits within a 25cm ring or hoop. Scheepjes Catona yarn can be purchased in 10g and 25g balls which are perfect for efficient yarn usage in this project. You will need • 3mm crochet hook • 4ply/sport weight mercerised cotton yarn in 5 colours. I recommend Scheepjes Catona. You will need a dark colour for the “lead” of the glass, e.g. black. And 4 bright colours for the “glass”. Black: 15g Glass colour A: 2g Glass colour B: 5g Glass colour C: 7g Glass colour D: 7g • Yarn needle and scissors • 25 cm (10 inch) mandala hoop/craft ring/lampshade ring.
